Bio
Dr. Fechisin is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic joint replacement surgeon from Blairstown, New Jersey. After graduating with honors from Lehigh University, he received his medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey. Following a one-year surgical internship at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania, he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. During his 4-year orthopedic residency program, Dr. Fechisin was exposed to all facets of orthopedic care and treatment, including six months of training at the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania for pediatric orthopedics and another six months at Morristown Medical Center Hospital for orthopedic trauma.
With a strong interest in lower extremity joints and arthritis, Dr. Fechisin pursued and completed a one-year fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Insall Scott Kelly Institute in New York City. While there, he learned the latest techniques in total joint replacement of the hip and knee using a wide range of the newest implants available. To help deliver the best possible outcomes, Dr. Fechisin is fully trained in the use of robotic surgery for these joints, including the use of Intellijoint for his patients’ replacements.
Dr. Fechisin specializes in all conditions of the hip and the knee, with a focus in arthritis and joint preservation. He has subspecialty training in sports injuries of the knee, including meniscus tears, ACL injuries, and damage to muscles and tendons. He performs joint replacements of the hip and knee, as well as revision procedures. Dr. Fechisin also performs platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell injections for various musculoskeletal injuries and osteoarthritis.
In addition to his board certification with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons (ABOS), Dr. Fechisin is also a recognized member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and a proud Board member of the Arthritis Foundation of New Jersey.
