Physical Therapy Services We Offer

Behind every successful recovery is a physical therapist who knows exactly which treatment to apply, when to apply it, and how to progress it over time. At Seaview Orthopaedics, our team brings that clinical precision to every patient through a comprehensive range of specialized services. The physical therapy services we offer include:

Massage Therapy

Living with muscle tightness, stress-related tension, or chronic soft tissue pain often requires more than general stretching. It requires hands-on care tailored to how your body holds stress and compensates over time. At Seaview Orthopaedics, our Massage Therapy services use targeted manual techniques to reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and support overall mobility and recovery for patients dealing with discomfort in the neck, back, and extremities.

Acupuncture

For patients who experience lingering pain, tight muscles, or restricted movement, acupuncture at Seaview Orthopaedics offers a targeted way to help reset the body’s pain response. Through stimulating specific points, this treatment works to reduce discomfort, improve circulation, and support the body’s natural healing processes. The result is often a noticeable improvement in comfort, mobility, and how the body moves through daily life.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IATSM)

Scar tissue, fascial adhesions, and chronic soft tissue restrictions can become significant barriers to full recovery. At Seaview Orthopaedics, our Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization uses specially designed tools to precisely detect and treat these restrictions.

Hand Therapy

Hand and wrist issues rarely stay isolated. What starts as minor discomfort can quickly affect grip strength, coordination, and overall function. At Seaview Orthopaedics, our hand therapy services treat a range of injuries and conditions with the goal of restoring strength and movement so everyday tasks feel easier and more natural.

Graston Technique

If you’ve been dealing with nagging pain or stiffness that just won’t go away, scar tissue and tissue buildup may be the culprit. At Seaview Orthopaedics, our Graston Technique uses handheld tools to work through those problem areas, breaking up buildup, improving blood flow, and helping your body heal the way it was meant to.

Pre and Post Surgical Care

What you do before and after surgery matters just as much as the procedure itself. At Seaview Orthopaedics, we prepare your body for the demands of surgery and guide your recovery every step of the way so setbacks can be reduced, strength can be rebuilt and the life you once lived can be restored.

Cupping Therapy

Tight, restricted soft tissue can limit movement and perpetuate pain long after an initial injury. At Seaview Orthopaedics, our Cupping Therapy uses targeted suction to lift and decompress layers of fascia, muscle, and connective tissue so circulation can be improved, tension can be reduced, and mobility can be restored in areas that traditional hands-on techniques may not fully reach.

Vestibular Therapy

Ongoing dizziness, vertigo, or a feeling of unsteadiness can make everyday activities feel difficult and unpredictable. At Seaview Orthopaedics, our vestibular therapy works to recalibrate dysfunctional vestibular systems that lack controlled balance, gaze stability and posture control so patients can return to the daily activity they love once more.

Return to Sport

Clearing an injury doesn’t automatically mean an athlete is ready to compete. At Seaview Orthopaedics, our Return to Sport program bridges the gap between clinical recovery and athletic performance through progressive sport-specific training, functional movement testing, and objective benchmarks so athletes can return stronger and more powerful than before.

Schroth Therapy

Living with scoliosis or chronic spinal pain at a young age requires more than general exercise. It often requires a plan built specifically for your spine. At Seaview Orthopaedics, our Schroth Therapy and Spine Rehab programs use three-dimensional corrective movements and targeted breathing techniques and tools needed to improve the alignment and pain levels that children and teens face.

Concussion Therapy

The recovery process for a concussion often involves more than rest. At Seaview Orthopaedics, our concussion therapy addresses lingering symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, visual disturbances and cognitive fog though a structured, progressive approach to help the brain and vestibular system safely return to normal functioning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started With Physical Therapy

No, you do not need a referral to start physical therapy.

If you’re experiencing pain that limits your daily activities, are recovering from an injury or surgery, are struggling with mobility or balance, or are simply not moving the way you used to, physical therapy is likely the right path forward.

Your First Visit

Your first visit will typically entail an evaluation where one of our therapists will review your medical history, ask about your symptoms, goals, and activity level, then conduct a thorough physical examination. From there, they’ll walk you through their findings, answer your questions, and outline a recommended treatment plan. Some gentle hands-on treatment may begin in that first session as well.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting athletic clothing that allows your therapist to easily access and visualize the area being treated. For lower extremity conditions, shorts are ideal. For shoulder or upper back treatment, a tank top or loose t-shirt works well. Sneakers or athletic shoes are recommended.

Physical Therapy Results

Recovery timelines vary significantly depending on condition, severity, your overall health, and how consistently you participate in your physical therapy program. Our team has found that minor sprains and overuse injuries may resolve in 4–6 weeks while post-surgical rehabilitation may require 3–6 months. During your evaluation, we will provide you with a realistic timeline and milestone framework specific to you.

Most patients begin with 2–3 sessions per week, with frequency tapering as you progress and take on more of the work independently through your home exercise program. Your therapist will adjust the schedule based on your response to treatment and your recovery goals.

Effective physical therapy should not be significantly painful. You may experience mild soreness after sessions, similar to what you’d feel after a workout, particularly in the early stages. However, our therapists will communicate continuously with you to ensure you’re comfortable and that treatment intensity is appropriate.
