Bio
Dr. Kevin McDaid is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in operative and non-operative conditions of the hand and upper extremities. He is originally from the Philadelphia area, and is a graduate of Lafayette College. Dr. McDaid completed medical school at Jefferson Medical College / Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Following medical school, he completed 5 years of orthopedic training at Monmouth Medical Center. Dr. McDaid went on to receive his fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at The Hand Center of San Antonio under Dr. David Green, a world-renowned hand surgeon and author of Green’s Operative Hand Surgery, the standard reference text on hand surgery used by hand surgeons worldwide. Dr. McDaid is certified with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Additionally, Dr. McDaid holds subspecialty certification in surgery of the hand.
Dr. McDaid specializes in treating various conditions of the hand such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers, wrist/finger/elbow fractures, arthritis, dupuytren’s contracture, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, and microsurgery. He is an expert at treating dupuytren’s disease with xiaflex injections, a medication that is used as an alternative to extensive open surgical treatment.
In his free time, Dr. McDaid spends most of his time with his wife and three children. He enjoys outdoor activities like running, surfing, fishing, volleyball and tennis.
